Vásárosnamény is a hospitable small town at the end of the M3 motorway, in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county. The town is situated where four rivers meet: the Tisza, the Szamos, the Kraszna and the Túr. The city’s logo and slogan – „Vásárosnamény is the heart of Bereg” faithfully reflects the city’s cultural, economic and geographical position in Bereg.
The real attraction of Vásárosnamény is the waters. The silky sandy beach of Tisza attracts thousands of tourists a year, but is also a popular harbor for water hikers.
Located a few hundred meters from the free beach of Tisza, Atlantika Water Amusement Park, the Szilva Termal and Wellnes Spa is located on the bank of the Kraszna River, the spa is open all year. Vásárosnamény and Bereg have excellent facilities for cycling tourists, as well as the rampart which is also a cycling route of more than 150 km, due to numerous cycling programs.
Vásárosnamény can be a great base for tours to Bereg, Satu Mare, Transcarpathia and Satu Mare County in Romania, from where it is good to start and return. The Tourinform office, which is one of the oldest and most impressive walls in the city, can provide all the information you need.
