There were seven competitions in the youth World Cup series in 2014, which started with the Paris-Roubaix Juniors classic, in which the Danish Magnus Bak Klaris proved to be the best.
Klaris later also won the Czech Course de la Paix Juniors race, but his career unfortunately did not continue after that, as he might have planned. He strengthened the colors of SEG Racing continental team from 2015 and then turned up at Coloquick and BHS-Almeborg-Bornholm teams, but was no longer able to achieve outstanding results, so he abandoned his active career after the 2019 season.
Returning to the 2014 World Cup series, the Croatian Tour of Istria won by the French Aurélien Paret-Peintre, who now strengthens the AG2R-Citroen WorldTeam. Norwegian Erlend Blikra triumphed at the Gallic Le Trophée Center Morbihan – he is racing a ProTeam Uno-X Pro Cycling since 2020 – while German Trofeo Karlsberg has won Eddie Dunbar – the Irish cyclist is one of INEOS-Grenadiers’ top mountain helpers today. GP Patton of Luxembourg ended with a show of strength from Aleksandr Vlasov of Russia, and the Canadian Tour de l’Abitibi ended with the primacy of Rayene Bouhanni of France. Vlasove today one of the top member in the Astana-Premier Tech roster, while Bouhanni left his career after the 2017 season.
This year World Cup-series, where only nations are ranked, was won by the French, led mainly by Paret-Peintre and Valentin Madouas (now Groupama-FDJ).
