In 2020, Tobias Lund Andresen’s success at the first Hungarian Nations’ Cup ended with the young Danish talent signing with the Dutch Team DSM continental team. A year later, Per Strand Hagenes triumphed – eventually winning the road race at the World Championships in September – and was assigned to Jumbo-Visma’s continental team.
The Le Tour de Bretagne Cycliste UCI 2.2, will take place from 25 April to 1 May, giving both cyclists the opportunity to compete in the event, the first time that the Hungarian World Cup winners have been in the same elite race.
The Jumbo-Visma management is so pleased with Hegenes’ performance so far that they have recently extended his contract until the end of the 2026 season, and have announced that he will be able to ride in the highest class, the WorldTeam from 2024.
Of course, there will also be a home Nations’ Cup Youth World Cup race in 2022, which, as originally planned, will host cyclists as the ninth stop of the ten-round series from 17 to 19 August.
