The five-stage race was not exactly easy, with the uphill stages really frosting the peloton.
The first four days saw a battle between the Finnish and Japanese national teams, with Karl-Nicolas Grönlund winning two stages and Kasper Borremans one, with Nagashima Satoaki able to respond.
The final stage decided the outcome of the race, however, with a three-man breakaway, with American Henry Neff (EF Education-ONTO) finishing third and taking the overall lead – followed by Dutchman Karst Hayma (Gepla-Watersley R+D Road Team) in second and Borremans, already signed to the Bahrain-Victorious WorldTeam squad, in third.
In the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) national rankings Norway came out on top, ahead of France and Italy, Hungary was 23rd.
