One Belt One Road Nations’ Cup winner Per Strand Hagenes of Norway has joined the Dutch Jumbo-Visma continental feeder team as youth world champion, and although his race programme for this year is not yet known, we can be sure that he will try out for the WorldTeam team this year, in accordance with UCI rules.
His compatriot Stian Fredheim, who finished second in Hungary, has joined the ProTeam Uno-X team, while Estonian Madis Mihkels, who finished third overall, will start the season as a Team Ampler-Tartu2024 rider, but from August he will be a member of the Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert Materiaux WorldTeam team, with whom he has signed until the end of the 2024 season.
The seventh-ranked Canadian Dylan Bibic has signed with Premier Tech’s U23 continental club, but Ivan Romeo is another notable signing, with the Spaniard’s place at Hagens Berman Axeon, one of the best-known development teams in the world, and Movistar is already keeping a close eye on his development.
Other continental teams have also had plenty of talent to choose from, with Alpecin-Fenix Development and Trinity Racing among those who have offered contracts to riders who could be seen racing in the Nyíregyháza area in the summer of 2021.
