Hungary can host the ninth round of the ten-turn series between August 20 and 22 in the 2021 season.
„It was a great pleasure and honor for us, that after several years of preparatory work, the UCI registered our race at the end of last year. We didn’t know then, that this year it will be the only one race, which will be conducted. In short – this year’s event is a clear success, although there were such things, which we will do differently next year. It may come as a surprise to many, but the biggest challenge was the increased international expectations arising from the event. This placed a heavy burden on the entire organizing staff, but so I can safely say in retrospect, that we have successfully overcome all difficulties. I am very grateful to them” – said Zsolt Törzsök, chief organizer.
The Nations’ Cup is made up of one-day and stage races, and Hungary will receive a three-day event. Among the races of the series, legendary junior events such as the classic ”Gent-Wevelgem” and ”Paris-Roubaix” or the one of the most noted junior stage race, the Czech Junior Course de la Paix can be found.
„Because we clearly brought this year’s race to life with that goal in mind, that our goal was to be successful in the years to come and create an international racing opportunity for Hungarian junior cyclists, so of course there was no question, to hold the World Cup next year as well. We are trying to go in a direction, so that they are not just flat stages, Miskolc and its surroundings will also be involved in the program, in connection with this, while the schedules for the second and third days remain unchanged. We trust, that a stage favorable to the mountain climbers will also win the favor of the participants. The people of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county and Nyíregyháza locked young talents in their hearts this year, we hope that in Borsod-Abaúj Zemplén and the city of Miskolc it will be no different” – closed his thoughts with the president of the Movement Health Recreational Sports Club.
