Hungary, especially the sports-loving audience of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county, witnessed a spectacular battle, as the sporting event supported by the Chinese province of Guizhou and the city of Anshun brought excellent fighting.
It can be said that according to the paper form, the victory of the Norwegian Per Strand Hagenes was brought by the general classification of the 2021 race. Hagenes also won the prologue and the final stage in Nyíregyháza; the two halves-stage in August 21 – Vásárosnamény and Ibrány – ended with the triumph of Estonian Madis Mihkels.
“To our great pleasure, the delegate of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) also praised, saying that holding an overture and a closing stage in the center of a city as big as Nyíregyháza is an insurmountable challenge, even for traditional cycling nations in Western Europe. We would like to thank our partners for their support, and of course the powerful help of Guizhou Province and Anshun City. We are confident that, following the path we have started together, we will be able to welcome the Chinese national team to our competition next year, ”said Zsolt Törzsök, chief organizer, after the award ceremony on the last stage.
“The cooperation with China started in 2019 with the One Belt One Road Cycling Tournament of Qinghai Lake Hungary sponsored by Qinghai, which took place between Budapest and Hatvan. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic situation, we did not manage to organize it in 2020, but with the help of Guizhou Province and the city of Anshun, the Hungarian Youth World Cup found a new circle of supporters. It is important for the Chinese nation to support sport, so these regions have been keen to support an initiative that focuses not only on strengthening economic relations but also on the social role of sport. We are confident that this cooperation can continue in the future, ”added Zhang Chengzou, representing the Chinese nation.
The seriousness of the competition is well illustrated by the fact that the peloton with the strength of the world championship started. Unfortunately, due to the vicissitudes of the coronavirus situation, several races of the Nations’ Cup series were cancelled this year as well, as a result of which the Hungarian race became even more important for the best of the age group. It is clear that the event is even more advanced than last year, and this could provide a good basis for a continuation next year.
