The German team was able to make things more difficult for the Danes at the 2020 World Cup in Hungary, which eventually took the form of Luca Dressler’s overall second place and winning the green jersey of the points race. Of course, it was not secondary that Moritz Kretschy was fourth in the general classification, while Klaus Betzinger was in fifth.

Wolfgang Ruser’s team is coming again with the intention of conquering the yellow jersey. Outstanding from the roster is Jonathan Malte Rottmann, who recently raced brilliantly in Belgium, finishing fourth in the Trofee van Vlaanderen. In addition, Cedric Abt, who excelled in time trials and will be good for the prologue, a duo of Daniel Schrag and Matteo Gross, who are riding in the Bora-hansgrohe WorldTeam feeder squad.

Preminary entry list for the Germans: Cedric Abt, Moritz Karsten, Daniel Schrag, Jonathan Malte Rottmann, Matteo Gross és Leon Heinemann.

According to the present position in the 2021 season, Hungary can host the opening of the three-round series between 20 and 22 August. The race starts with a 3.8-kilometer prologue in Nyíregyháza, and then the next day there will be two half-stages: a 89.9-kilometer rad race in the morning around Vásárosnamény, and a 41.2-kilometer road race in the afternoon around Ibrány. On the closing day, the caravan will roll again in the Nyíregyháza area, this time covering 108 kilometers.
