Unfortunately, even in 2021, the coronavirus situation left its mark on cycling, including the UCI category races of the junior age group, and as a result, only three races of the series – originally planned for ten rounds -, were held.
The Hungarian race was won by the Norwegian Per Strand Hagenes, just as he triumphed in the Junior Peace Race in the Czech Republic a few days later, while his compatriot Trym Brennsaeter proved to be the strongest during the closing German LVM Saarland Trophy.
With this, Norway finished at the top of the Union Cycliste Intrnationale (UCI) ranking, scoring 208 points – in which, in addition to World Cup races, the results of continental championships are also taken into account. Belgium came second (110 points) and France third (88 points). Hungary closed with 6 points in 22nd place.
