Luxembourg’s Niels Michotte came in second, while Norway’s Stian Fredheim finished third – Szijártó Zétény had the best time among the Hungarians, which was enough for the 30th place.

At exactly 12:00, Grega Podlesnik from Slovenia was the first to start the prologue to the One Belt One Road Nations’ Cup Hungary Youth World Cup from the start in front of the Roman Catholic Church (Kossuth Square), then he reached the finish line in Freedom Square.

The first serious time was broken by the Norwegian Trym Brennsaeter, completing the distance in 4 minutes 37 seconds, then the American Luke Freuerhelm (LUX-Sideshow p / b Specialized) took the first place in the first half of the peloton – his time was 4:30.

Among those who fought for the victory, first Stian Fredheim, also from Norway, achieved an outstanding result, then his compatriot Per Strand Hagenes was the one who finally won the prologue with a time of 4 minutes 22 seconds. Only Niels Michotte of Luxembourg was able to battle them, he finihsed in the second place.

We knew the differences would be very small, so I tried to get everything out of myself. We toured the track twice in the morning, looking at the more technical bends and the parts where we had a chance to gain any advantage. We were confident it wouldn’t start raining because it would have fundamentally overwhelmed our plans. This is a great competition, the organization is great, so far we are very satisfied with everything” – said the winner of the prologue, waiting for the award ceremony.

Of course, after the prologue, the order is the same in the general classification – the best young blue jersey was placed on the shoulders of Niels Michotte (Luxembourg) and the best Hungarian rider is Zétény Szijártó (Hungary).

The One Belt One Road Nations ’Cup Hungary bicycle race will continue on the morning of August 21 with an 89.9 km half-section in Vásárosnamény, and then in the afternoon a 41.2-kilometer half-section will be waiting for cyclists in Ibrány.
