Dear Sport Friends,
Hungarian cycling-sport is on a steep upward curve. Outstanding results are being achieved in more and more disciplines and Hungary is hosting more and more international competitions. Just think of the exciting races and Hungarian successes of the Giro d’Italia, which recently started in Hungary, or the Tour de Hongrie, which has enjoyed unbroken popularity for almost a century.
The Nations’ Cup Hungary is an exceptional opportunity for young cyclists to compete on an international level. Participating in the Junior World Cup is not only a huge challenge, but also a great motivation for the participants.
The only way we can become a sporting nation is to educate our children to be sport-loving people – this is one of my most important ambitions as Secretary of State. And for future success, it is crucial that our country organises competitions of the same international calibre as the Junior World Cup.
It is a great pleasure and honour to be the patron of the Junior World Cup. I am confident that seeing the determination and enthusiasm of the riders will see more young Hungarians getting on their bikes and more Hungarian successes in the sport.
