There were six competitions in the youth World Cup series in 2013, which started with the Paris-Roubaix Juniors classic, in which the Danish Mads Pedersen proved to be the best.

The one-day specialist, who now strengthens the Trek-Segafredo WorldTeam, proved unstoppable that year in the Czech Course de la Paix Juniors and the German Trofeo Karlsberg.

Pedersen was able to start his elite career in 2014 in the colors of the third-class Danish Cult Energy team, and then in 2017 he joined the Trek-Segafredo, and later he won the Gent-Wevelgem (2020) and Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne (2021) classics, but the biggest success of his career was, when he won the rainbow-colored jersey in the World Road Championships in England in 2019.

Returning to the 2013 World Cup series, the Tour of Istrian race won by the 2020 winner of the Giro d’Italia, the Britain Tao Geoghegan Hart, who is now strengthening the INEOS-Grenadiers team. Christoffer Lisson from Denmark triumphed at GP Patton in Luxembourg, who has not run a very bright career “so far” but is still on the strongest Danish continental team, name of Riwal, while a certain superstar Mathieu van der Poel wins the France Tropheé Center Morbihan stage race. The Dutch star will most likely not have much to introduce to cycling fans today.

This year World Cup-series, where only nations are ranked, was won by the French, led mainly by Rémi Cavagna (now Deceuninck-Quick-Step) and Elie Gesbert (now Team Arkea-Samsic).
